Req 2.9: Apply time-based and location-based restrictions (...

📋 Requirement Details

Req 2.9: Apply time-based and location-based restrictions (including geofencing) to enable or revoke policies based on device usage context.

⚙️ Technical Demonstration

IMTLazarus natively fulfills this requirement through a dynamic, multidimensional policy engine that combines temporal scheduling with spatial positioning. Administrators can create specific Timetables (defining operational hours) and link them to macro-level Calendars to track school days versus holidays. By combining these schedules with network-level or GPS-based Geofencing controls, the system dynamically changes or revokes device policies based on whether the endpoint is inside school grounds during active hours, or operating off-campus outside the timetable window.

👨‍💻 Administrator Steps

Admin Setup Steps for Req 2.9

Link Context to Device Profiles: Go to Admin > Devices > Configurations, bind your location rules via Use Center Location by IPs (Geofencing), choose the target Teaching / Work Timetable, and click the green check to activate dynamic enforcement.

Establish Time Windows: Navigate to Admin > Setup > Timetables, click Create New, and specify operational hours (e.g., School Hours from 05:00 to 23:00).

Build the Academic Calendar: Go to Admin > Setup > Calendars, select your environment, and assign the created timetables to the calendar days to define the macro operational structure.

Configure Geofencing Parameters: Navigate to Admin > Setup > General > Geofencing. Set the Geolocation Mode to Center's Public IPs or Calendar, and input the school network parameters to lock down location tracking.
